Woman asks for a 90s-style pixie cut at high-end salon – turns out it’s the worst haircut of her life

Olivia Day, known by the username @oliviasutopia, explains how her haircut went wrong

A woman’s visit to the hair salon did not go quite according to plan.

In a now-viral TikTok video with over 550,000 views, Olivia Day, who goes by the username @oliviasutopia, explains how she visited a high-end salon in New York City that was highly recommended by her friends.

At the salon, she requested a ’90s-style pixie cut, but after the cut was done, Day realized the style didn’t look at all like she wanted. Instead, her new haircut exuded a spiky mohawk. “It looked like I cut it myself,” Day, who is from Brooklyn, says on TikTok, covering her hair with a green beanie, adding that it was the “worst haircut of my life.”

Day then asked her hairdresser if he could take care of the frizzy back and uneven layers. He agreed and continued cutting, eventually pausing to ask Day what she thought.

“I was like, ‘Oh my God,'” she says, covering her mouth with her hands. “I was like, ‘You have to give me my money back and I have to go.'” They agreed, and Olivia ran home, grabbed a pair of scissors, and somehow managed to cut it straight and apply layers herself while watching YouTube videos.

Day ends the video by showing off her new and improved hairstyle, reminiscent of ’90s pixie looks. The reveal comes after she shared a video of herself sobbing on camera after getting her first haircut. “From shiz to rizz baby,” she captioned the video.

Since then, over 5,000 people have reacted to Day’s video and shared their thoughts on the haircut mishap. “Her end result is WAY closer to inspiration than what the salon did!” one user commented.

“My jaw dropped he treated you so dirty. You did a great job 👑,” wrote another. “Gorl. The front made me think ‘okay maybe you can fix that.’ THE BACK!!?? The SIDES!!!! 😭😭,” wrote another.

“You saved it!! I can’t believe they did this to you for a crime,” read another comment.
