Two suspects who committed violent crimes this week have now been charged in the fatal shooting in Ohio Township on August 2

Two men who were charged in unrelated incidents earlier this week are both facing new murder charges in connection with an Aug. 2 shooting in Ohio Township, Allegheny County police said.

Emmanuel C. Houghton, 19, of Carnegie was arrested Wednesday night after an hours-long standoff with Monongahela police. He is accused of firing at police from a stolen vehicle.

Tyler M. Stewart, 22, of McKeesport was also arrested Wednesday night after he attempted to steal a car and caused an accident during a chase in Beltzhoover, according to police. Stewart was wearing a body armor vest, according to police.

On Friday, Allegheny County police charged both men with manslaughter, robbery and weapons violations in connection with a fatal shooting on Aug. 2 on Ben Avon Heights Road in Stowe.

Police believe 18-year-old Nathan Jordan Ross Geiger was the target of the attack, in which he was shot in the upper body and later died.

Houghton and Stewart, who have been in the Allegheny County Jail since their arrest on Wednesday, are awaiting arraignment on the new charges.
