Pennsylvania-based Triumph Group has announced the expansion of repair and technical services for Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.

The agreement builds on the consortium’s long-term partnership to supply and maintain Hydraulic Utility Actuation Valves (HUAV) for the F-35 program since 2014.

Work for the initiative will continue over the next five years at the Triumph Center in Clemmons, North Carolina.

The corresponding tasks will be carried out by Triumph’s Actuation Products & Services segment, which is responsible for the design, assembly, manufacture and maintenance of hydraulic, electromechanical and mechanical drive components, subsystems and chassis for users in the defense and aerospace sectors.

Performance improvement of the F-35

In 2020, the company receive a four-year contract to supply the valves for the aircraft. This followed a similar agreement for the F-35 fleet based at the Marine Corps Air Station in Cherry Point, North Carolina.

In addition to the HUAV, Triumph also offers delivers Hot-formed titanium exhaust grilles for the F-35 jet’s tailgates.

Triumph Services in other aircraft

In 2022, the company signed a separate, long-term contract to manufacture brake valves for the F-16 Fighting Falcon.

At the same time, Triumph received another order to support the Sikorsky CH-53K King Stallion Folding of the helicopter’s rotor blades, associated damper system and brakes.

The CH-53K project was started in 2021 and initially focused on providing the actuation and damping systems for the platform’s folding blades.
