Enloe Health hosts book signing for new cancer center

“Cancer patients and their families don’t have to travel long distances to receive treatment; they can receive treatment right here at home,” says Anastacia Snyder Lando, donor and current board member.

She participated in the beam signing with Tom Snyder Lando on Friday morning in front of the Enloe HealthGonzales Comprehensive Cancer Center construction site.

The center, which is scheduled to begin accepting patients in spring 2026, will be a 9,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in Meriam Park.

“We now have comprehensive services for cancer patients, but in a very small space, about 35,000 square feet, with about 5,000 square feet spread throughout the community. The new 100,000 square foot building will give us the ability to expand and serve even more patients. That’s critical because the counties we serve in Northern California have the highest cancer rates in the state,” said Jolene Francis, vice president of philanthropy and communications at Enloe Health.

Francis said the facility will also include a therapy room, thanks in part to a donation from the Aaron Rodgers Foundation, that includes nutritional counseling, massage therapy and exercise classes.

“I think the welcoming, warm space it provides for those recovering and their family members will be great,” Anastacia said.

Construction of the center will cost approximately $154 million, much of which will come from bonds. The Enloe Health Foundation also raised $17 million in donations.

“I’m a cancer survivor, so this is especially important to me,” said Tom. “The nurses at Enloe are great, I’ve had excellent care. It was older technology, so it’s really pleasing that we’re getting new cutting edge technology, it will make things easier for people in the future.”
