The Colts will compete in an exciting duel on Saturday at the Cardinals’ home stadium, Lucas Oil Stadium.
Both teams need a win, and they need it badly, but the competition for that win will be fierce. That’s because both teams are evenly matched. Both the Colts and Cardinals will hire new head coaches in February 2023, Shane Steichen and Jonathan Gannon, respectively.
The only advantage Indianapolis has over Arizona is their 9-8 winning record last season. The Cardinals not only have to prove themselves this season, but also redeem their humiliating 4-13 record from 2023.
The Cardinals, who finished last in the NFC West, hope to avoid any injuries this season. The offense performed well, completing 6 of 14 third downs. They also ran the ball well, averaging 4.7 yards per carry as a team.
RB Michael Carter led the way with seven carries for 41 yards and a touchdown. The defense also did well, recording just one sack but having five QB hits. Their pass defense was superior, recording six pass deflections. If they can continue to limit the number of scoring opportunities, the Cardinals can easily pull out a win.
The Colts, on the other hand, have a much younger roster. In their first win of the season against the Broncos, the offense dominated, with QB Sam Ehlinger leading the way, completing 5 of 6 passes for 80 yards and an interception. However, the O-line’s mistake of losing the ball twice was obvious, and they need to work on that.
