The Orcas Center welcomes Acrobatic Conundrum to the Center Stage on Friday, August 23rd at 7pm with their show “The Circus of Second Chances”. A huge thank you to Doe Bay Resort for hosting these incredible artists!
In their relentless quest for miracles, three skilled acrobats let their imaginations run wild to fulfill secret desires. Fluent in the language of the circus, Acrobatic Conundrum’s main cast melts the fourth wall to reveal their fatal flaws and journeys to redemption. In our homes, we are at sea, on our living room sofas, we are on an epic odyssey… so much rests on the fate of a dozen lemons.
Emma Curtiss, Melissa Knowles and Terry Crane use their long-standing friendships and put all their talent and quirky skills into this Dada circus fun. They climb, romp around, twirl, turn around and undermine each other in a capricious acrobatic story for the ages. With trapezes, ropes, Cyr wheels, balancing exercises, handstands and clowning.
This cathartic and personal show revolves around moments in the performers’ lives that left them with questions they are still working to answer. Throughout the show, the audience is invited to participate in this process. The Circus of Second Chances runs for 75 minutes without an intermission and is suitable for children aged six and over.
Tickets may be purchased online at www.OrcasCenter.org, by phone at 360-376-2281 x100, or in person Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to showtime. Ticket prices range from $18 to $63, with a $2 fee per ticket. Six tickets for $5 each are available for this performance, subsidized by our generous donors. These tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. You can book the show for free at the box office. And don’t forget: volunteers who help with iPad check-in or serve refreshments during intermission can see the show for free!
