You’re tearing us apart, Franco!

James Franco is an eccentric artist by Hollywood standards. But the 37-year-old actor/director/writer’s long list of unusual art projects and films seems like a stack of paint-by-numbers canvases compared to the bizarre and so-bad-they’re-good films of The Room author Tommy Wiseau. However, Franco will get the chance to reach Wiseau level as he will play the mysterious director in The Disaster Artistthe cinematic adaptation of the book about the filming of Wiseau’s insane cult film of 2003, a romantic drama that was once set in a Weekly entertainment Function as “the Citizen Kane of bad films.”

As you can see from the photo Franco posted on Instagram yesterday (above), he’s already having a lot of fun in the role. “THE DISASTER ARTIST: The making of THE ROOM. It has begun!!!!!” he wrote in the caption.
