Dricus du Plessis trolls Drake in thank you message after the rapper bet 0,000 on Israel Adesanya to win

After winning his fight against Israel Adesanya, UFC fighter Dricus Du Plessis took the time to mock Drake for betting against him.

Before the fight, Drake posted a screenshot of his bet – he placed $450,000 on Adesanya to win. Drake has a long history of betting on UFC fights and he has never bet against Adesanya, so he probably saw this as a quick way to win and make $855,000.

Unfortunately for him, the “Drake Curse” – the belief that Drizzy supports a person or team in sports – was in full swing. Du Plessis defeated Adesanya by submission in the fourth round, causing Drake to lose his bet.

Du Plessis celebrated his dub by thanking Drake on X, writing: “From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU again @Drake.”

Despite having just suffered a setback in the sporting world, Drake remains deeply interested in helping people succeed. Earlier this month, it was revealed that the Canadian star played a key role in helping Venezia Football Club avoid a potential bankruptcy filing.

In a recent GQ Italy In the story, Drake’s Chief Brand Officer Matte Babel revealed how the two helped raise €10 million in just a few weeks.

“Venice is an incredible city and Venezia has always been a special club,” said Babel. “I spoke to Drake, then Brad (Katsuyama, co-owner of Venezia) and I discussed how we could help. Within two weeks we agreed on the terms and raised the money needed to pay the salaries and avoid bankruptcy.”

In addition to fundraising support, the group also received new kits made in collaboration with Drake’s brand NOCTA.
