It is with deep sorrow that the family of John Wayne McCrabb announces his unexpected but peaceful passing on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at LHSC – University Hospital at the age of 78. Wayne will be missed by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sandy, his daughter Shelly (Jim) Howard, his grandchildren Curtis and Joshua, his cousins ​​from the Grandys’ side especially the late Neal (Christine), their children John (Pam), Ron (the late Mona), Barb (Kevin) and the late Dave (Christen), his brother Robert (Wendy), and his nephews Ben and Tim McCrabb. His parents George and Anne McCrabb are predeceased.
Wayne’s first sunrise was on April 16, 1946 in Noranda, Quebec. He was the proud owner of Sarnia Heating for more than 50 years, which he took over from his father. Wayne enjoyed building, everything from houses to ideas on how to make everything better for everyone. Wayne had a deep passion for the outdoors, especially golf. He also had a special love of water sports and often spent his time boating when he was younger. He loved cars and animals, no matter their size. Wayne was a people person, always had a joke ready and made friends with everyone he met. Most importantly, he cared for Sandy and loved his family and friends very much. Cremation has taken place. An intimate service will be held to celebrate Wayne’s life. Condolences may be expressed through donations to a charity of your choice (checks at funeral home only please). Arrangements have been entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
