Cheap old cars will flood the Ukrainian market

More than 200 cars that do not meet London’s emissions requirements have already been sent to Ukraine, and more than a hundred are being prepared for transportation.

This was announced by the London utility company Transport for London (TfL), as “BusinessCensor” noted, citing “European Truth”.

The ULEZ recycling program has been in operation in London since the beginning of 2023, providing motorists with subsidies to purchase an environmentally friendly vehicle in exchange for recycling old cars.

If drivers do not take up the opportunity to replace their vehicle, they will be charged a daily fee of £12.50.

In March, drivers participating in the ULEZ program were given the opportunity to send their cars to Ukraine instead of for disposal.

These vehicles are being brought to Ukraine solely to support humanitarian and medical relief efforts. According to TfL, more than 330 car owners have taken advantage of this opportunity.

Following the end of the ULEZ compensation program, London Mayor Sadiq Khan announced plans to provide additional funding to maintain the flow of cars to Ukraine even after the scrapping program ends.
