Obituary: Gerry Wayne Brazel, 63
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Gerry Wayne Brazel, 63, of Summerville, South Carolina, who was killed in a tragic boating accident on Lake Moultrie. Gerry was reported missing and after an extensive search by multiple agencies, his body was recovered on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
Gerry was a beloved husband, father and friend, known for his love of the water and the outdoors. He was a kind and compassionate man who touched the lives of everyone around him with his generosity and warm soul. His sudden loss leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family and friends.
Gerry’s family would like to thank the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol, divers and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for their dedication and efforts to bring him home. As they mourn this unimaginable loss, they ask for privacy during this time of grief.
Rest in peace, Gerry Wayne Brazel. You will be missed greatly, but your memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved you.
