RIPLEY – Jackson County residents 65 years of age or older have the opportunity to attend all regular season high school sporting events for free this year.

“It’s a small way of saying thank you,” Said Will Hosaflook, superintendent of Jackson County schools. “We have a great board and they wanted to give back to those who have supported our students and our school system over the years.”

A news release on the district’s social media said that to take advantage of this opportunity, Jackson County residents who are 65 years of age or older must purchase a senior citizen ID card at one of the following locations: Jackson County Board of Education on August 22 from 4-6 p.m.; Ravenswood High School main lobby on August 26 from 4-6 p.m.; and Ripley High School main lobby on August 27 from 4-6 p.m.

Hosaflook said the only exception for games would be postseason or conference games. He said the district may also expand middle school sports next year.

Passes must be presented at the ticket counter for all events. Senior passes only entitle the pass holder to free entry.
