Chipotle is giving away $1 million worth of free burritos

Chipotle Mexican Grill really wants to give you a free burrito – and all you have to do is pass this quiz to get it.

On Monday, Chipotle announced it’s bringing back Chipotle IQ, its trivia game that tests people’s knowledge of Chipotle, including questions about its ingredients, cooking techniques and brand history. And if you pass, you’ll have a chance to win a buy one-get one offer.

“This is the fifth year we’ve tested our fans’ knowledge with Chipotle IQ,” said Chris Brandt, Chipotle’s chief brand officer. “After four million playthroughs since the concept launched, we believe there’s an appetite for competition and free burritos. For those who want to get a head start, here’s a tip: We use 48 avocados for each serving of our hand-smashed guacamole.”

Here’s how the game and drawing works, according to Chipotle’s press release: Starting Tuesday, August 20, at exactly 9:01 a.m. Eastern Time, Chipotle will offer 5,000 BOGO codes per hour to the first Chipotle Rewards members who score 10 out of 10 on the Chipotle IQ game. A perfect score will unlock a question with extra credit, and a correct answer will enter fans into a drawing for 50 free burritos for a year.

That’s all. That’s all there is to it. Fans can enter once a day, every day through Thursday, August 22 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time at chipotleiq.com. (Just remember to enter the email address you use for your Chipotle Rewards account to play the game.)

The game, Chipotle says, includes multiple choice questions, true/false questions and free choice answers. To get a perfect 10, Chipotle says fans should “think beyond the slide, the questions will cover all Things that make Chipotle what it is” and “Do your best, really. New this year: Fans who score 7, 8 or 9 out of 10 will receive 25 reward points in their Chipotle Rewards account, while they last.”

Whoever wins the BOGO code, Chipotle says, will be entitled to a regular entree with the purchase of another regular entree. The terms and conditions state that a “regular entree” is a burrito, burrito bowl, single serving of three tacos, quesadilla (only available through the Chipotle app or Chipotle.com), or salad. Kids’ meals, 3-point meals, or individual tacos are not included, so don’t even try to mess around with this giveaway.
