Frontier adds two free checked bags to its credit card

Frontier Airlines is adding a new benefit to its airline credit card, making it easier than ever to jet across the country for an unforgettable ski or golf trip.

The low-cost airline will now allow World Mastercard holders to check two large bags for free on Frontier-operated flights, Frontier recently announced. These checked bags include oversized items such as golf or ski equipment.

The benefit is available to primary cardholders for flights booked with the card on Frontier’s website or through the company’s mobile app. There is also no limit to how many times travelers can use the benefit.

“Our cardmembers have spoken and we have listened,” said Bobby Schroeter, chief commercial officer at Frontier Airlines, in a statement. “This new benefit, combined with existing perks … makes our card a must-have for any traveler looking to maximize value and convenience on every flight.”

In addition to the new benefits, Frontier Airlines World Mastercard holders will receive miles that don’t expire, award travel with no blackout dates, priority boarding in Zone 2 and a $100 flight credit each year after spending $2,500 or more on purchases.

Travelers who sign up for the card for the first time will also earn Frontier’s Elite Gold status for 90 days after their first purchase with the card. This status can then be extended to 12 months if members spend $3,000 within the first 90 days.

Frontier recently eliminated almost all change and cancellation fees and has recently been venturing into more luxurious offerings. Among other things, the company introduced a new economy business class called BizFare and added the “UpFront Plus” option, which allows travelers to purchase seats in the first two rows with a blocked middle seat.

Aside from the perks you get with credit cards or by booking a higher fare class, Frontier remains an ultra-low-cost airline and typically charges passengers for everything from seat reservations to baggage.
