DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — An Ohio man was arrested by the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office and accused of sexual abuse of a minor.
Rober Michael Urban III of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, faces charges of sexual abuse of a minor victim between the ages of 11 and 14, sexual solicitation of a minor, first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and distribution of obscene material to a minor, the sheriff’s office said in a news release Monday.
Urban traveled from Ohio to Dorchester County and engaged in sexual acts with a 12-year-old girl, law enforcement authorities said.

Between July 5 and 9, according to the arrest warrant, Urban lured a minor and illegally communicated with her in order to coerce her into sexual acts.
During the same period, according to the arrest warrant, Urban also distributed obscene material to the minor.
The victim’s family notified criminal police, which led to an “extensive” investigation that included a trip to Ohio, law enforcement officials said.
In an incident report dated July 13, officials with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office reported a sexual assault.

According to the incident report, the victim’s parents told officers that the child was sexually abused by Urban in a field in Dorchester County.
According to the incident report, the victim met Urban through an app called “Monkey.”
When the victim’s parents searched the phone, several nude photos and videos were observed, according to the incident report.
Another incident report from July 9 states that the victim was walking the dog. However, the activity lasted longer than usual. Then the victim met with Urban and he took the minor into the woods where they were supposed to have sex, according to the incident report.
When the victim rejected Urban’s advances, he pulled down his pants and exposed himself to the minor, according to the incident report.
Urban was held at the LC Knight Detention Center on $250,000 bail. The case is still pending. The 1st Judicial Circuit Solicitors Office will prosecute the case.
