Lil Wayne wears a necklace given to him by The Weeknd – fans question Drake’s ties

One of the biggest questions for fans following the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar is which rappers are still on the Toronto superstar’s side. Lil Wayne was recently spotted wearing the XO necklace gifted to him by The Weeknd, leading fans to believe that the “Miss Me” duo may be at odds.

Weezy F Baby appeared in the music video for his “High3r” collaboration with Mike Will Made-It and Lil Yachty on Tuesday (August 6). Fans were quick to notice that he was wearing the diamond necklace he got from the Radio and television stations Artist who pointed it out himself in this Instagram story. “The (goat emoji) @liltunechi rocking the XO and playing the (guitar emoji),” he wrote in the caption of a screenshot of Wayne wearing the chain.

“Does that make sense?” one user replied. Others were convinced there was tension between the legendary duo. “Yeah Wayne and Drake are definitely having a falling out,” one fan said. “Betrayal is afoot.” Another user recalled that the “Lollipop” artist is often oblivious to major events in the entertainment field, writing, “Wayne is the guy who walks into the middle of a gunfight and doesn’t know what the f*** is going on (crying face emoji).”

This speculation comes after Drake and The Weeknd traded disses over “Push Ups,” “Family Matters,” and “All To Myself.” However, it seems to be a little misguided, as just a month ago Lil Wayne changed the lyrics to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” apparently as a pledge of loyalty to his protégé. “They don’t like us,” he chanted while performing “The Motto” in Las Vegas and holding up his OVO chain.

Lamar attempted to cause a rift in their relationship on “Not Like Us” by alluding to a time when the “Rich Baby Daddy” artist had sex with the New Orleans rapper’s partner while he was in prison. “Fucked Wayne’s girl while he was in jail, that’s sneaky/ Then I get his face tattooed on me like an apologetic bitch,” K. Dot rapped. Wayne wrote about the experience in his 2016 book Gone ‘Til November: A Diary from Rikers Island, However, he clarified that this happened before they were together.

“I woke up still feeling like crap about the crappy day I had. It was hell! I’m used to fighting with my girlfriend (daily) but finding out she fucked Drake was the absolute worst thing I could have found out,” he wrote. “As a man, that sh*t honestly hurt, and not because it was Drake. It could have been any man and it would have hurt just as much. She said it happened way before we were in a relationship, but she never told me. When Drizzy came to me, he was like, ‘Yeah, it’s true… don’t mess with her like that, because I fucked her.’ Damn!”
