The crazy CDKeys gift card offer is back – get a refurbished Xbox Series X or S for less

With a combination of a Microsoft Store discount code and the current discount prices on Microsoft gift cards CDKeys, you can score significant savings on both of Microsoft’s current consoles. We saw this deal several months ago, but it’s nice to see it again, and you can save a ton on both consoles.

The principle for redeeming these two discounts is the same: instead of paying for the Series X or Series S with a card or PayPal, you can load Microsoft gift cards onto your account to get a balance equal to or close to the purchase price of the console with the respective discount code and pay for it that way. If you were to pay using more normal methods, the Series X would cost £321.75 and the Series S £178.49. However, you can get them cheaper by taking advantage of current discounts from CDKeys on Microsoft gift cards.

To break it down further, for the Series X discount, you’ll need enough gift cards to have a balance of £330 in your Microsoft account, which is as follows:

  • 14 lots of £25 tickets (worth £22.49 each)
  • 1 £5 card (worth £4.89)

So the value of these gift cards is £355, which is the closest to the Series X credit with the code EMEAAUGXSX15 at checkout. However, when you consider the total cost of these discounted gift cards, you’re actually paying £319.75 plus the additional £1.99 to make up the balance – that’s an Xbox Series X for 321,74 €.

The same principle applies to the Series S, but with significantly less code:

So the total amount is £175 in cards, which is closest to the price of £178.49 if we use the code EMEAAUGXSS15 at checkout. However, when you consider the total cost of these gift cards of £157.46 and then add the additional £3.49 required to arrive at the purchase price of the Series S, you have spent 160,95 €.

.

This may seem like a hassle for both, but it’s worth it considering what you get for it. While these are refurbished consoles, they are Microsoft’s own and come with a full 12-month warranty. Reports I’ve read from people who have bought these consoles say they are practically in mint condition, so you can rest assured.

Plus, there’s no denying that the Series S gets you next-gen gaming for £161, which is immense value for money, while the Series X is an absolute steal for full-blown 4K/120fps gaming at £322 – whichever console you choose, the price is incredible.
