A relief center opens in Anza for people and businesses affected by the Nixon Fire

Anza-area residents and businesses affected by the Nixon Fire will soon be able to access resources and services at a new local relief center, the Riverside County Emergency Management Agency announced today.

Numerous agencies and organizations will be offering services related to housing, public health, social services, CalFresh and claim forms at the Anza Community Hall.

According to a statement from the department, the center will be open for 12 hours starting at 8 a.m. on Friday.

“Wildfire recovery can be particularly difficult,” said Chuck Washington, chairman of the Third District Board, in a statement. “That’s why this local relief center is open to all residents and businesses in and around the Nixon Fire area. Providing resources to everyone affected is an important first step toward recovery.”

Agencies expected to be available include Riverside University Health System – Public Health, Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, Department of Public Social Services, Housing and Workforce Solutions Department, and American Red Cross.

Local residents were asked to report damage in advance using the online form at rivcoready.org/recovery or by calling 211.
