Heart surgeon reveals four things he “absolutely avoids” in life because they can lead to serious health problems

A heart surgeon has given us a simple four-point guide to help us ensure we avoid major problems as we age.

You know what they say: easier said than done, but it’s very easy to forget your future self when you’re out enjoying your weekend and the life around you.

However, if you are not careful, a careless attitude can endanger your health in the long run and cause you a lot of trouble in the future.

Dr. Jeremy London, MD, is a cardiac surgeon who frequently shares medical insights and advice via social media and has nearly 400,000 followers on his TikTok account.

His most popular video currently has 30.8 million views and, similar to his latest viral clip, gives viewers three main reasons to avoid vaping for health reasons.

This video, titled “Four Things I Avoid as a Cardiac Surgeon,” has over 7.4 million views and features the specialist going into detail about why you should do what he does.

To be honest, he might know a thing or two.

Smoke

This has been on this list from the beginning, as Dr. London explains: “It is without question the worst thing you can do to your entire body. It destroys your lungs, causes lung cancer, high cardiovascular risks, heart attacks and strokes.”

We have known about the long-term effects of smoking for several decades, so it is not surprising that the heart expert has focused on this bad habit.

alcohol

Sorry guys, this might hurt and even the doctor feels bad because he doesn’t want to tell you, but adds: “(It’s) toxic to every cell in your body – your body, your rules. You decide for yourself,

“For me personally, giving up alcohol was one of the most dramatic decisions I made as an adult – all the cool kids do it,” he concluded.

It can cause serious damage not only to your liver but also to the surrounding organs and also increases the risk of developing certain types of cancer.

Non-alcoholic beverages

Granted, that hurts too, but it makes sense after Dr. London called it “liquid death” and simply stated, “Just don’t drink it, period. That’s it.”

Maybe it’s time to say goodbye to energy drinks, and for all the rum and cola lovers out there, this is a huge double whammy.

Bread and pasta

This may be the most difficult because these are some of the most commonly consumed foods by the general population, while the rest of the world eats “refined flour and wheat,” which the expert says should be avoided.

He further explains: “80 percent of weight control is diet, 20 percent exercise,

“I guarantee you that you can achieve more through food than through any exercise you do, so be careful what you put in your mouth,” he concluded.

This consumption may need to be curbed, as a life without bread and pasta may be difficult for many people to get used to.
