1. Happiness is on the way… Ren Fest starts this weekend! Anyone who has been reading KFDC for a while probably knows that the Maryland Renaissance Festival is my absolute favorite annual event in the DC area. I wrote about it a lotso you can get more details and tips to get your bearings here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here or here. This year’s fair runs every weekend from August 24th to October 20th. Tickets are $14/ages 7-15, $26/ages 16+ from August 24th to September 18th and $18/ages 7-15, $32/ages 16+ from September 16th to October 22nd (free for children under 6). Check out some scenes from last year here. Hooray!

2. The circus is also coming to town! Hidden Circus The 2024 tour brings their brand new outdoor show, Canvas sky, to the Washington, DC area this coming Saturday and Sunday, August 24-25. The show is a blend of circus nostalgia and a contemporary storyline, with original background music, popcorn, cotton candy and clowns, coupled with world-class acrobatics and a thrilling storyline, all under the vast canopy of stars. It’s a full sensory experience for audiences of all ages. Tickets are $25/general admission (bring your own seat), $45/reserved seat, $65/VIP seat.

3. Have you been looking for shark teeth this summer? If not (or even if you have been), I highly recommend it. Not only is it a super fun activity, but you get to spend some time on the beach. Here’s a list of the places to visit!

4. Bruce Springsteen is finally playing Nationals Park on September 7th! (The concert was originally scheduled to take place a year ago, then postponed to last fall, and then postponed again.) Tickets have been sold out for some time, but you can find resale tickets here.

5. America’s family members 🙂
