Dignity Health announces name of new Regional Cancer Center in Redding

At a press conference on Tuesday, August 20, Mercy Foundation North announced the name of the Dignity Health Regional Cancer Center: Sierra Pacific Regional Cancer Center.

The cancer center is a $70 million project that Dignity Health plans to begin construction in September on an 11-acre campus near Cypress and Hartnell avenues in Redding. Dignity officials say the facility will bring cancer care under one roof and serve its six-county region in the north of the state.

The current configuration of Dignity Health’s Redding facilities allows patients to receive care at multiple locations.

To raise funds for the project, Mercy Foundation North launched a community fundraising campaign two years ago that raised $10 million. Sierra Pacific Foundation kicked off the campaign with a $3 million donation.

“The community has really stepped up to support this much-needed facility in the North State,” said Jake Mangas, president of Mercy Foundation North, in a press release ahead of the event. “We are incredibly excited to announce the name that will be on the building and the new representation of the center. Our community partner is well-known and loved in the North State and has a special heart for all cancer patients.”

The project is expected to be completed in 2026.
