Top junior wide receiver recruits for the 2024 season

With the 2024 Ohio high school football season upon us, it’s time to take a look at some of the state’s highest-rated recruits. In this series, we’ll focus on the top recruits at a handful of positions for a specific graduating class.

We started by introducing you to the top senior recruits at 10 different positions – quarterbacks, running backs, linebackers, edge rushers, wide receivers, defensive backs, tight ends, offensive linemen and defensive linemen.

Then we moved on to the top young recruits, starting with the quarterbacks and running backs. Now we’re going outside and taking a look at the top young wide receiver recruits in Ohio for the 2024 season.

The wide receivers in 2026 are led by Payton Cook of Archbishop Hoban, Jaedon Ricketts of Watkins Memorial, Devonte Taylor of Ursuline and Milan Parris of Walsh Jesuit. Of the four, only Ricketts has committed and he is transferring to Ohio State.

1.Payton Cook, Archbishop Hoban; 1.88 m, 77 kg (No. 12 in Ohio Class of 2026)
Unbound

Cook is Ohio’s top wide receiver recruit of the 2026 class and has received offers from Michigan, Purdue, Tennessee and Kentucky, among others.

2. Jaeden Ricketts, Watkins Memorial; 1.83 m, 84 kg (No. 18 overall)
Committed to the State of Ohio

The speedster holds the school record in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes. He chose Ohio State and received offers from other schools such as Illinois and seven offers from the Mid-American Conference.

3. Devonte Taylor, Ursuline; 1.88 m, 84 kg (total 9 kg)
Unbound

As a sophomore, he caught 40 balls for 680 yards and scored eight touchdowns. He currently has offers from Cincinnati, Indiana and East Carolina, among others.

4. Milan Parris, Walsh Jesuit; 1.93 m, 84 kg (No. 22 overall)
Unbound

Has offers from Wisconsin, Purdue and Kentucky, among others.
