Spectrum issues statement on closure of Rochester call center

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) — The Spectrum call center on Bandel Road in Rochester closed Aug. 15 after the company announced in mid-June that it would change its call center operations. It was one of the company’s highest-performing call centers, according to an anonymous Spectrum employee.

On Tuesday, KTTC received a statement from Spectrum regarding what the closure of the call center means for the company’s future. The statement reads as follows:

“Operations of our customer service call center in Rochester, Minnesota, were relocated to other centers across the United States effective August 15.

We continue to have a strong presence in Rochester, as there have been no changes to our local team of engineers servicing our customers’ homes and businesses, engineers maintaining the network, and coordinators managing construction to expand our network into new areas. As always, we also have local retail and sales teams.

Spectrum is investing in the excellence of our call centers, including through consolidation, which provides more resources and opportunities for our employees and allows us to deliver information, training and technology to our employees more efficiently. These investments, along with investments in our network, technology and people, enable us to continue to provide our 32 million customers with the high-quality service they want and deserve.”

KTTC has contacted the anonymous employee to inquire about the status of the former call center employee, but has not yet received a response.
