Authorities are searching for a man in his early 20s who allegedly shot two strangers in a parking lot next to the Clackamas Town Center on July 30.
The shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. as two men stood in a JC Penney parking lot at 12300 SE 82nd Ave., near a MAX Green Line station, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday. A man with curly hair wearing a gray hoodie, gray pants and black shoes got out of a black, older model, two-door Cadillac, pulled out a handgun and fired at the men from about 20 yards away.
The men were not injured in the shooting, the sheriff’s office said. Authorities provided a sketch of the suspect and a grainy photo of the Cadillac.
The shooting was one of at least two at the mall this year. On April 7, an altercation between two groups of people in a parking lot resulted in a shooting that left one person injured, the sheriff’s office said at the time.
The sheriff’s office has asked anyone who can help identify the man to call the office’s tip line at 503-723-4949 or fill out the office’s online form.
