Center for Entrepreneurship hosts Ohio Invention League Honda State Finals

The Ohio Invention League Honda State Finals brought together 170 student inventors from across Ohio at Ohio University’s Convocation Center. Hosted by the Center for Entrepreneurship, the event showcased the innovative problem-solving skills of students in grades K-12.

Ohio University’s Center for Entrepreneurship is a resource for aspiring entrepreneurs and ambitious students, providing them with the guidance and tools they need to succeed in their ventures. The event was a science fair-style event, with students in grades 1-12 showcasing and explaining their inventions.

Ohio Invention League is a nonprofit organization that provides STEAM programming to students in grades 1-12, teachers, and afterschool programs across the state of Ohio. Their mission is to help students become lifelong problem solvers by using the invention/design cycle to invent solutions to real-world problems.

The executive director of the Ohio Invention League, Robin Hilsmeier, thanked the Center for Entrepreneurship at Ohio University for its support.

“The Ohio Invention League is very grateful to Krystal, Liz and Paul and the Center for Entrepreneurship for their support. OIL is excited about this partnership and our families are very positive about the statewide event in Athens.”

Numerous volunteers, including Ohio University students, were involved in making the event a success. This event was an excellent opportunity for students in grades 1-12 to showcase their creativity and problem-solving skills, and it highlighted the importance of the collaboration between the Ohio Invention League and Ohio University’s Center for Entrepreneurship.

The Ohio Invention League is open to all students in grades 1-12 across the state. Students can participate through school programs, after-school programs, or the Independent Inventor Program. The league seeks to foster students’ interest in STEM by encouraging them to develop solutions to real-world problems they face. Future leaders who are eager to learn and ready to take on challenges can rest assured that the Ohio Invention League, in partnership with Ohio University’s Center for Entrepreneurship, will provide the necessary support and resources.
