After almost two years of waiting, production of the final season of Stranger Things has officially passed the halfway point.

Will there be a 5th season of Stranger Things?
Stranger Things officially returns with the fifth season, production of the series began in January 2024.
Ahead of the release of the fourth season in 2022, the Duffer Brothers confirmed that Stranger Things 5 would be the last part of the popular saga.
“Seven years ago, we developed the entire story arc for Strange things. At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It turned out to be too big to tell in four… Season four will be the penultimate season. Season five will be the last,” they said in a statement.
What is the plot of Stranger Things 5?

When is Stranger Things 5 coming out?

Although he did not reveal any further information about whether the season will be broadcast again in two parts, it is assumed that the epic conclusion of the series will follow Netflix’s recent release trend, with Stranger Things 5 is expected to have the longest running time compared to previous seasons.

Winona Ryder gave fans another update on the August 2024 production date, saying: E! News, “We’re still filming, it will run until the end of the year.”
Although the Duffer Brothers have not yet confirmed an official release date, it has been widely reported that Stranger Things 5 will be released in late 2025, with the series’ extensive VFX work cited as the main reason for the extended production time.
The production of the last part of the saga was also delayed due to strikes by the writers and actors in 2023.
“The writing doesn’t stop when filming begins. While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, that’s not possible during this strike. We hope a fair agreement can be reached soon so we can all get back to work,” the Stranger Writers tweeted after the strike announcement.
