Auto Care Association launches social media campaign on Right to Repair

The Auto Care Association is calling on its members to participate in a social media campaign aimed at getting Congress to take action on Right to Repair, according to a new press release.

The #RighttoRepair, RIGHT NOW challenge is aimed at both industry professionals and consumers and encourages individuals to visit repairact.com and send newly written letters to their legislators urging them to take action on the REPAIR Act.

After sending a letter, challenge participants are asked to share a selfie with a message saying what they did and tag three others – be they coworkers, colleagues or friends – to do the same.

As ACA President and CEO Bill Hanvey explained, the need for such pressure on Congress is especially acute right now. As lawmakers return from their August recess, supporters of the REPAIR Act want the legislation to be one of their top priorities.

“We want to make sure Congress knows how important the right to repair is to the American people, and one of the best ways to get their attention is through grassroots initiatives like the ‘#RighttoRepair, RIGHT NOW’ challenge,” Hanvey said. “In the shadow of an election less than 100 days away, I’m asking all members of our industry to join us in this social media campaign to keep the fight for the right to repair alive on Capitol Hill.”
