Tonkeeper, the leading non-custodial wallet for the TON blockchain with over 30 million users, announces the launch of the Signer app. This app allows Tonkeeper users to securely store and manage private keys, further securing crypto assets on TON, one of the fastest growing blockchain networks in 2024.
In the past, users of non-custodial crypto wallets like Tonkeeper have had to contend with a significant problem – the risks of managing private keys. This has resulted in many international headlines, millions of dollars in losses, and even bounties for anyone who figures out how to track down stolen funds. Developed by Tonkeeper, Signer allows users to “sign” their Tonkeeper transactions outside of their wallets, giving users a sense of security and an extra step of peace of mind. Users can choose to pair Signer with a device that already has the Tonkeeper app installed, or “air gapped” with an offline device without internet access that uses QR codes for signing to provide even greater security.

With Signer, keys are stored encrypted and only accessible via a user password. Signer users can effortlessly sign transactions using convenient pairing with the Tonkeeper wallet on a single device or on a separate device via QR codes.
Signer offers two options that allow virtually anyone who owns a large amount of cryptocurrencies to enjoy the benefits of Signer:
- Comfort mode: A seamless UX where Signer can be paired with the Tonkeeper wallet app on a single device, allowing easy access to both apps for signing transactions
- Maximum security mode: Users with a completely separate device that is not connected to the Internet can physically isolate private keys and the user QR code signature. This method can dramatically minimize the risk of online attacks
There is no need to create a new account to use Signer, nor do users need to create new private keys. The Tonkeeper app integrates seamlessly with existing wallets to ensure compatibility with existing holdings.
