The Delta Zeta Chapter of the North Carolina State Organization of Delta Kappa Gamma honors teaching staff here in Dare County. The group has participated since 1989 and has been involved in many activities since its inception, including the Community Spelling Bee held annually in March.
Because the group’s growth was recorded on paper and organized in binders for 35 years, group members decided to house their entire history in a climate-controlled space at the Outer Banks History Center. Director Tammy Woodward and intern Joshua dos Reis gave Delta Zeta representatives plenty of information about how their unique records would be housed and also walked them through their remarkable resources.
“The records are available to all, and as teachers know, the impact of the past is a treasure for students and other residents of Dare County,” Delta Zeta said in a press release.
