Free Museum Days in Chicago During DNC 2024 – NBC Chicago

During the Democratic National Convention, free museum days are being offered at select locations in Chicago this week.

The promotions are part of the museums’ ongoing offer to offer visitors free visits.

Here’s the schedule for the remaining two days of the DNC. (Reminder: Some Chicago Chicago events are always free, including the three listed at the bottom of this page.)

Illinois residents can visit the Art Institute for free on Thursday, August 22nd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Admission is always free for teachers of grades Illinois Pre-K through 12, school-based teaching artists, children under 14, Chicago teens, and active members.

According to the Art Institute, art lovers can reserve their tickets free of charge.

Illinois residents can visit the museum for free on Wednesday, August 21st from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Those interested must reserve tickets in advance. The museum said admission is always free for Illinois teachers.

Although advance ticket reservation is always required, the museum offers free admission every Wednesday, including August 21st.

On Wednesday, August 21, admission to the museum will be free for Illinois residents. Individuals must show proof of residency to receive the free visit. Tickets cannot be purchased online and are only available on-site.

On Thursday, August 22, tickets to the Museum of Natural History will be free for Illinois residents. Residents can reserve their free tickets online or in person. Tickets are for individual visits and are not available for group registrations.
