Apple’s most popular service is not music or television; besides the App Store, it is iCloud storage

Apple migrates older iCloud documents and data to iCloud Drive

A new consumer survey by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) has found that among Apple device users, iCloud storage is Apple’s most popular service, next to the App Store.

Michael Levin and Josh Lowitz for CIRP:

We collect data across a variety of services, including paid iCloud storage, AppleCare service plans and extended warranties, Apple Music, TV+, and news and podcast services. Our customer engagement questionnaires cannot fully capture activity on the App Store, another major source of revenue for services.

Paid iCloud storage is the most common among Apple customers, with almost two-thirds of customers using it…

MacDailyNews Opinion: If we had to guess, we’d say App Store usage is over 90%. An informal snap poll of friends and family we also conducted shows that the numbers make sense too: Many are willing to take the risk by foregoing Apple Care for iPhone, about a third watch some Apple TV, it’s about the same for podcast listening, a little more for Apple Music, and Apple News just doesn’t seem to resonate for some reason.
