When you think about terrible endings for Stranger Things Season 5 in a Reddit thread, Redditor @OnlyOwl4100 doesn’t believe that Time travel should solve the problem in HawkinsThey wrote that the worst ending of the successful Netflix series would be:
“Time travel (they go back in time so Vecna never turns to the dark side. I think that would be an easy way out, I would have liked better plot development/ending).”
Although a time jump is inevitable and there are different fan theories about what the time jump will look like, some think that time travel would be cheesy and would not fit into the overall framework of the show. If there is time travel in Stranger Things Season 5 should be a short storyline that doesn’t derail the rest of the ending. It also seems necessary to keep Vecna as a dark villain, otherwise the tone wouldn’t be as scary.
The same Redditor also does not believe that Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) or Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) should die “as a sacrifice.” Many are worried that Eleven could die, as she is the most powerful character besides Vecna and will lead the charge against him in the final season. Since fans believe Will could stop Vecna, he could be in danger as well. While there is no doubt that both Eleven and Will will be in tough shape at some point in the final season, they must survive.
Many fans agree There should be no deaths of important characters in Stranger Things Season 5. That would be annoying considering how much people care about these characters and how much they’ve been through. Who might die has been a topic of conversation for a while now, as everyone is expecting a tough fight in at least one of the episodes. Redditor @Boy_13 doesn’t want a violent ending:

Matt Duffer said The Guardian in 2023 that it is not possible to Stranger Things Fan happy and explained:
“I think a very specific way of failing is trying to please everyone. We have a huge range of fans, covering a wide range of ages, and I’m sure they all have their own ideas about how the show should end. But we don’t consult social media about that. Then you just hope and pray that it resonates. But it was funny: once we got there, it just felt right and we’re going to do it!”
