Tickets for the free fan event of the Las Vegas Grand Prix were sold out in less than a week | Formula 1 | Sport

Tickets for the free fan event at the Las Vegas Grand Prix were sold out less than a week after they went on sale, race officials said Wednesday.

Fanfest will take place on November 22 and 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at the Wynn West property, which is across from Wynn on Las Vegas Boulevard. According to a Grand Prix spokesperson, the event has a capacity of 25,000 people per day.

The event is scheduled to feature appearances by drivers from Formula 1 and the F1 Academy teams, local food trucks, live entertainment and interactive fan events. Fanfest is a way for anyone who wants to attend Grand Prix weekend without having to buy tickets to the race itself, which start at $150 for a one-day pass for the practice lap on November 21 and $600 for a three-day pass.

The Grand Prix itself is scheduled to take place every night from November 21 to 23 on a 3.8-mile circuit that runs mostly on public roads, including Las Vegas Boulevard, Koval Lane, and Harmon and Sands Avenues.

Roadworks related to the construction of the circuit are scheduled to begin in the first week of September, when workers begin installing track lighting. Fans can keep up to date with the latest race-related roadworks on the Grand Prix’s interactive online map. The website breaks down the work and associated traffic impacts week by week, allowing motorists to plan their journeys around potential congestion.
