LibreOffice 24.8 offers many improvements for this free office suite

LibreOffice 24.8 was officially released today and represents the latest major feature update for this open source office suite, which is the leading free software alternative to Microsoft Office. LibreOffice 24.8 offers many new features across all its components.

LibreOffice 24.8’s Writer word processor now allows resizing of the comments area, offers improved support for multi-page floating tables, improved hyphenation handling across multiple pages, and more. LibreOffice 24.8’s Calc spreadsheet component adds XLOOKUP/XMATCH functionality, improved localization, improved performance in threaded calculations, and other improvements, among other new features.

LibreOffice 24.8 Chart, meanwhile, is working on new chart types such as Pie of Pie and Bar of Pie charts, including the ability to import such charts from Microsoft Office/365 OOXML files. LibreOffice 24.8 has also worked on improving its SVG filter, localization enhancements, and dropping support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.
