Dee Warner’s family speaks out for the first time after officials identify her body

LENAWEE COUNTY, Michigan. – After more than three years, there are finally answers to the mystery surrounding a missing woman from Michigan.

Dee Warner’s case is officially being treated as a murder by police after human remains were found were confirmed by medical examiners as the missing woman from Lenawee County.

She was last seen in April 2021 at her home on Mugner Road in TiptonDale Warner was charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence in this case.

Dee’s remains were found on Sunday, August 18.in a waterless tank during a search of a Lenawee County property owned by her husband, Dale Warner. Officials confirmed Wednesday, August 21, that the remains belonged to Dee Warner.

The family spoke publicly for the first time since her body was found on Thursday, August 22.

“It’s bittersweet at best, but certainly necessary and frankly unexpected after three and a half years,” said Gregg Hardy, Dee Warner’s brother.

Hardy said police were investigating the cause of death but he could not personally disclose it. He described Dale Warner as “a very evil piece of human scum” who “brutally and without remorse killed my sister.”

He said his sister’s death was “completely intentional” and that Dale Warner had placed her in a “steel grave.”

The family said they were grateful for the support they had received from the community since Dee’s disappearance.

Hardy urged people to leave bad relationships, saying his sister probably stayed because she thought she could change Dale Warner.

“You know, my sister was a very strong person. She’s probably dead because she thought she could heal that guy,” Hardy said.

The investigation is ongoing.
