A MICHELIN-starred restaurant has announced it will drastically slash its prices next month, allowing diners to eat for just £3.50.

For a limited time, St. John in London’s Smithfield has reduced the prices on its menu to match what people would have originally paid when the restaurant opened in 1994.

To mark the restaurant’s 30th anniversary, the historic menu prices were restored.

According to the St. John restaurant website, the discounted price is only valid Monday through Friday, September 9-27.

On its own website, the restaurant is described as one of the “leading proponents of nose-to-tail cuisine” and follows a sustainable business philosophy in which the whole animal is used.

This means lucky guests can try the Roast Bone Marrow and Parsley Salad for just £4.20, down from the original £16, over the festive period.

While a Welsh Rarebit costs just £3.50, the Eccles Cake with Lancashire cheese costs £4.

However, hopeful guests may be disappointed to find that the entire event is sold out.

The Michelin Guide described the St. John group as a restaurant that can create a “joyful experience” with “very little ceremony.”

It also said: “This is the place to try new things.”

Since the restaurant group has a total of three locations, bargain hunters should also keep an eye out at the other locations in the future to see if there are any celebrations taking place there.

These include Bread and Wine on Commercial Street and another in Marylebone.
