Captain America 4 is “better” than Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy, says Anthony Mackie

Captain America: Brave New World Actor Anthony Mackie keeps his carefree feud with Marvel film universe Co-Star Tom Holland lively.

The Sam Wilson/Falcon/Captain America actor apparently hasn’t forgotten how Holland teased him about not having his own MCU movie. During the official Marvel podcast, Mackie assured MCU fans that Brave New World will be better than any Holland film they’ve ever seen, including his Spider-Man trilogy.

“Well, he’s Cap. Finally,” Mackie said, laughing. “Now we see him going on missions on his own and trying to figure out where he fits in the whole world. This is much better than any of Tom Holland’s movies,” he added, before deciding to throw in one final jab by reminding fans that, unlike the Spider-Man trilogy, his film will also “have Harrison Ford!”

Anthony Mackie stars in his first Marvel film, “Captain America: Brave New World”

Captain America: Brave New World is Mackie’s first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Captain America, after assuming the role in the series finale of the 2021 Disney+ miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. In addition to continuing the miniseries’ storylines, the fourth Captain America film is also a secret sequel to 2008’s The Incredible Hulk and will tell fans what Tim Blake Nelson’s The Leader has been up to for the past decade or two.

Brave New World also features the return of two other Incredible Hulk characters: Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, played by Ford, who succeeds the late William Hurt in this role, and Betty Ross, with Liv Tyler reprising her role from the 2008 film.
