DJ Mustard rules out the possibility of a collaboration with Drake

DJ Mustard has no interest in collaborating with Drake after producing Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us.” The West Coast producer reiterated his anti-Drake stance in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

“I don’t think I want to do a song with that guy,” Mustard said. “He’s a weird guy.”

Mustard clashed with Drake’s fans after the producer The Faith of a Mustard Seed album. Drake fans mocked the project’s disappointing sales, which led to Mustard lashing out on X (formerly known as Twitter). Mustard called Drake the “White People’s Malcolm X” in one post.

“These guys don’t sleep,” Mustard said of Drake’s fans. “All they do is tweet, tweet, tweet, tweet. That’s where ‘The Nation of Drizzlam’ comes from. I said it in jest, but I guess it looked like I was crazy on Twitter. Drake should use that phrase. I’m not charging him for it.”

Mustard’s album didn’t sell well, but he landed a number one hit with “Not Like Us.” Lamar’s song was the decisive blow in his much-discussed battle with Drake.

Lamar wasn’t the only rapper to feud with Drake this year. Future, Rick Ross, and A$AP Rocky also insulted Drake in the first half of 2024. Rocky briefly addressed his issues with Drake in a conversation with Billboard.

“You have to realize that certain n##### have been firing shots for years,” Rocky said. “I’m not in the middle of this shit. That’s not how I react now. I’ve got better things to do than some assholes. It’s real trouble out there. It’s real. N##### gets shot at and bombed every day. N##### gets shot at N###### every day. That little crap with the kitten doesn’t mean anything.”

Drake previously dated Rihanna, Rocky’s girlfriend and the mother of his two children. Drake insulted the couple in 2023.
