A beautiful weekend will be followed by great heat next week

MONTGOMERY, Alabama (WSFA) – Alabama will be hot and dry again over the next seven to 10 days as a system of high pressure builds over the region. That means if you didn’t see any rain on Thursday, there’s little hope of widespread rain in the near future.

Outside temperatures this morning will be between 15 and 21 degrees, with clear skies and an easterly wind. Typical summer heat is expected during the day. Maximum temperatures will be above 35 degrees, skies will be mostly sunny, and easterly winds will remain at around 8 to 24 km/h.

There’s a *small* chance of a heavy shower today, but it will stay mostly dry, with lows between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius and mostly clear skies.

Football is back! And good weather is expected overall for the start of our Friday Night Football Fever season tonight and the FCS kickoff in Montgomery at the Cramton Bowl this Saturday.

Speaking of the weekend…we’ll continue to have seasonal heat and plenty of sunshine. Highs on Saturday and Sunday will be between 35 and 35 degrees. Lows overnight will be between 18 and 21 degrees.

Humidity will be bearable on Saturday and Sunday, with a slight chance of isolated showers. Most regions will remain dry this weekend.

Next week is going to be really hot as a high pressure system forms in the region. Afternoon temperatures Monday through Thursday will be between 35 and 38 degrees Celsius each afternoon, with humidity slowly increasing. This means… The heat will be unbearable.

Rain will continue to be hard to find, with only small amounts of precipitation possible. High pressure over the region will keep most of the wet weather in coastal Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.
