Sanford Children’s Announces Opening of Panda Cares Center of Hope

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – Sanford Children’s has a new place of hope, the Panda Cares Center of Hope. It is a special place for patients and their families to improve their health and change the future.

We all have ups and downs in life. Panda Cares Center of Hope is located next to the Sanford Traumatic Stress Treatment Center on 4th Street S in Fargo. The center offers healing with various programs that target a child’s total well-being, including their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual needs.

“It’s for people who have experienced trauma in their lives, whether it’s sexual abuse, physical abuse, tragic murder. You know, medical, an illness or something else, a bad experience somewhere, and we’re wondering how we can help this child be successful in the future,” says Brianna Bertsch, clinical director of the Traumatic Stress Treatment Center and Sanford Children’s Care Clinic.

Therapeutic play, art therapy, meditation and counseling services. It is a place designed to give children the courage and strength to thrive.

“Really getting into the mind of the patient. Giving them the opportunity to express themselves allows the medical staff to make an appropriate and accurate assessment and help build on those foundations to get the patient to a place where they are both physically and mentally healthy.”

Every time you donate at Panda Express, that donation benefits the children at our local Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.

“I can make a contribution to the children and the community we serve because all of our guests can also be part of our contribution,” says Boris Villa, Panda Express Area Operations Manager.

More than $213,000 from Panda went toward building this new center of hope, paving the way for better days.

“I’m really happy to be here, to do something for the kids and to continue to have a safe place where they can be kids again.”

Since 2015, Panda Express has donated over $200,000 to Sanford Children’s Hospital. For more information about using the center, contact your doctor.
