Just in time for football season, Verizon has expanded its offerings with a special NFL Sunday Ticket promotion. Verizon’s current internet deals include a free NFL Sunday Ticket subscription (valued at $449) for the 2024 season. To qualify, customers must sign up for or upgrade to a Fios gigabit plan or the carrier’s 5G Home Plus plan.
What is the NFL Sunday Ticket?
NFL Sunday Ticket, an exclusive streaming package from YouTube TVoffers every NFL game live and out of market, every Sunday, for the entire regular season. The package starts at $449 ($349 for YouTube TV subscribers) and includes unlimited streams at home and two streams away from home.
It’s a must-have for football fans who have moved in and need a reliable way to watch their team. For example, if you’re an Eagles fan and live in Sacramento, NFL Sunday Ticket is the best (and possibly only) way to watch your team live every week from the comfort of your own home.
The package is also great for general fans of the game and keeping up with fantasy players in the league. Or if you’re like me and your team is the Panthers, NFL Sunday Ticket lets you watch other teams play something that actually resembles football.

NFL Sunday Ticket is available for a limited time to new and upgrading customers who choose a Verizon Fios Gig plan — 1 Gbps starting at $90 per month or 2.3 Gbps, available in select areas, starting at $110 — or Verizon’s 5G Home Plus, starting at $70 per month for speeds from 85 to 1,000 Mbps.
Customers must keep their service in good standing until February 28, 2025. Otherwise, Verizon “reserves the right to reclaim the value of the annual subscription.”
Also included is a free one-year Vix Premium subscription and a three- or four-year price guarantee with 5G Home Plus or Fios Gig service, respectively.
The cheaper Fios 300 and 500 Mbps and 5G Home Internet plans do not include the NFL Sunday Ticket subscription, but the Vix Premium subscription and a two or three-year price guarantee are available.
Do I need a YouTube TV subscription for NFL Sunday Ticket?
No. You’ll need a Google account, but a YouTube TV subscription isn’t required to get NFL Sunday Ticket. The subscription is cheaper for YouTube TV subscribers, $349 instead of $449, but that doesn’t matter when you get it for free from Verizon anyway.
You’ll also need a streaming device or smart TV with the YouTube app installed, as well as an internet connection with download speeds of at least 13 Mbps to reliably stream NFL Sunday Ticket in HD. Other than that, all you’ll need are snacks, drinks, and your lucky jersey.
What if I don’t want an NFL Sunday Ticket?
Verizon often gives you the choice between two or more special offers, and that’s the case with the current deal. For those who don’t want NFL Sunday Ticket, Verizon is offering $400 off a minimum purchase of $798 on Samsung devices at The Home Depot.
To qualify, new or upgrading customers must sign up for a Fios Gig plan or 5G Home Plus by September 11, 2024 and keep their service in good standing for 180 days.
If you’re not excited about these deals, or an NFL Sunday Ticket subscription, or the $400 credit for Samsung devices, check back in a month or so. Verizon changes up its promotional offers often, and the next one is sure to be a pretty good deal if they want to top a free NFL Sunday Ticket subscription.
