The NFL world can’t get enough of Bears backup QB Tyson Bagent

The Chicago Bears ended the preseason with a 34-21 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, with quarterback Tyson Bagent putting in an excellent performance in the first quarter and proving why he is arguably one of the better backup players in the league.

With Caleb Williams and the starters rested in the finale, Bagent got the starting job and marched down the field with the offense on its opening series – a seven-play, 73-yard drive capped by a 5-yard rushing score by Bagent. The second-year quarterback’s best throw was a 44-yard pass to receiver Nsimba Webster, where he rolled left and threw a perfect pass on the run that was reminiscent of Williams’ impressive throw to receiver Rome Odunze last week.

Bagent only played in two series, completing 3 of 6 passes for 57 yards and a rushing touchdown. He looks like a solid backup quarterback in the NFL, which will be invaluable for the Bears as injuries are inevitable in this league.

As you can imagine, there has been a lot of support for Bagent on X (formerly Twitter), with some even believing there may be NFL teams calling Chicago about Bagent’s availability.
