Kanye calls out Drake and criticizes Adidas at the show in Seoul

Kanye West recently made waves with a surprise shoutout to Drake during a high-energy performance in Seoul, South Korea, while also expressing his strong disapproval of Adidas. The Chicago rapper, who performed alongside Ty Dolla $ign at Goyang Stadium on August 23 as part of their Vultures 2 listening experience, captivated the crowd with his dramatic horse-riding entrance.

During the sold-out show, Kanye took a moment to acknowledge his complex relationship with Drake. As he prepared to perform “I Wonder” from his 2007 album DiplomaKanye dedicated the song to Drake, saying, “This one is for Drake.” He also took the opportunity to honor Ian Connor, a fashion designer with a controversial past. Despite these gestures, Kanye did not hold back from expressing his displeasure with Adidas, having the crowd chant “Fuck Adidas,” making it clear that his frustration with his former business partners is still not over.

The concert also featured the debut of Kanye’s new song “Bomb,” which also featured contributions from up-and-coming rapper Yuno Miles and his daughter North West. It is still unclear whether this song will be featured on the Vultures 2 album or saved for the upcoming Vultures 3.

In addition to presenting new material, Kanye also played some of his classic hits, including “Through the Wire,” “Touch the Sky,” “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” “Runaway,” and “Black Skinhead,” frequently asking his DJ to quickly switch between tracks.

Kanye’s relationship with Drake has been fraught with tension. Recently, Kanye took a swipe at Drake in a remix of Future, Metro Boomin and Kendrick Lamar’s “Like That.” He rapped, “Y’all so out of sight, out of mind / I can’t even think of a line from Drake.” Their rivalry reached a new peak in 2021. However, it seemed to relax after their joint performance at the “Free Larry Hoover” benefit concert. Kanye later said that the performance was more about supporting J. Prince than reconciling with Drake.

Kanye’s ongoing feud with Adidas has been a major topic of discussion. This feud intensified following the end of their Yeezy partnership in 2022, which was terminated due to his anti-Semitic comments. Kanye has accused Adidas of stealing his ideas and plotting against him. These sentiments are reflected in his Vultures 2 track “My Soul.” In the song, he raps, “We’re mass targeted, mass commodified / Mass incarcerated, mass in police stations / Mass incorporated, fuck Adidas.”
