6 Fun Things to Do in Eastern Pennsylvania This Weekend

EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA, PA — Football season is about to begin.

In less than two weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles will kick off their NFL season with Super Bowl aspirations, but if you want to see some of the Birds compete for a roster spot, the Eagles host the Minnesota Vikings at The Linc on Saturday afternoon.

Everyone loves weddings. And one of the most popular weddings is happening this weekend in Peddler’s Village. There’s also a Ukrainian festival in Montgomery County and a 10K run in Philly on Sunday.

In the meantime, grab a beer at the Fonthill Castle Beer Fest in Doylestown on Saturday to cheer on the final weeks of summer. Gather Place is celebrating its second anniversary as a Lower Bucks County museum with festivities on Saturday.

Here are some of the events happening in Bucks County this weekend:

Fonthill Castle will once again host its annual Fonthill Castle Beer Fest, a charity event, from 2-5 p.m. Saturday in Doylestown. Beer lovers over the age of 21 are invited to gather in the castle’s spacious outdoor grounds, where there is plenty of room to mingle and experience the unique environment while sampling a variety of regional craft beers. Fly Eagles Fly! The Philadelphia Eagles prepare for the regular season with a preseason game at The Linc against the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday afternoon. Don’t expect quarterback Jalen Hurts or any of the big offensive players like AJ Brown or Lane Johnson to play. But the game will include players hoping to earn a spot on the roster of a team with Super Bowl aspirations. Click here for ticket information.

The annual Ukrainian folk festival and outdoor concert will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Ukrainian American Sports Center on Lower State and County Line Road in North Wales. Tickets are $15 at the door and children under 15 are free. There is also free parking. Click here for more information.

Gather Place is celebrating its second anniversary as the museum of Lower Bucks County with some festivities and a dedication on Saturday. The Yardley Borough Museum is hosting an anniversary picnic from 1 to 4 p.m. at the museum, located at 188 S. Canal St. (Read more)

Two well-known Bucks County names – Peddler’s Village and the Bucks County Center for the Performing Arts – are teaming up to present “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding,” a haunting comedy that has delighted audiences around the world since its premiere in New York City in 1988. Evening performances and three matinees will be held at the Cock ‘n Bull Restaurant in Peddler’s Village through August 25. Tickets are available at PeddlersVillage.com. (Read more)

The Philly 10K is this Sunday and runners will run through the heart of South Philadelphia. The race starts at 7:30 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of South Street. The full course can be found online here. The Philly 10K will take place regardless of the weather. (Read more)
