Bo Jackson, who has committed to Ohio State, starts the season with a long touchdown run

CANTON, Ohio – When it comes to starting a football season off right, Bo knows what he’s doing. At least Lamar “Bo” Jackson of Villa Angela-St. Joseph does.

The Ohio State player received a handoff on the third play of the game against GlenOak on Friday night and ran 46 yards for a touchdown just 22 seconds into the game.

He received the ball at the VASJ 46-yard line, bounced it wide left, sprinted down the sideline, then ran to the middle of the field at the GlenOak 25-yard line. He remained virtually untouched and scored the goal that gave the Vikings an early 7-0 lead.

Later in the first quarter, he added a 45-yard touchdown to make it 21-0 with 1:53 minutes left in the quarter.

In the first quarter alone, Jackson had six runs for 118 yards and two touchdowns.

The 6’0″ and 200-pound running back is a four-star recruit and the top-ranked running back in the 2025 class according to 247Sports.com. He ran for 1,570 yards with 28 touchdowns and was a First-Team All-Ohio selection in Division III last season.

Jackson is considered Ohio’s fifth-best recruit for the class of 2024 and the third-best running back in the country by 247Sports.com.
