Benny the Butcher And Drake’s The rumored collaboration has finally reached the streaming services.
On Friday, August 23, the head of the Black Soprano Family delivered his new EP Buffalo Butch Volume 1. The three-pack consists of several freestyles, including “Penny & Shaq Freestyle” featuring 38 Spesch“Hard Way Freestyle” with Fabulousand “Buffalo Freestyle” with Drizzy. In the latter, Drake starts the track with Namdropping Nicki Minaj and as a tribute to the deceased Nipsey Hussle.
“My resume is thicker than Nicki’s, I’m busy/I remember halftime in Jackson, Mississippi,” Drake raps. “I wasn’t driving a Cadillac back then, but shit still found a way to escalate quick/I wanted people to miss me, changed that shit after Nipsey.”
Benny The Butcher first debuted the song in 2021 during his set at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash. Since then, the song has leaked online but has never officially made it to DSP until today. Benny’s EP comes a few weeks after its release Summertime Butch with his BSF artists.
“Buffalo Freestyle” is one of several tracks that landed on iHeartRadio’s Rap Rising playlist. Other songs that topped the list include Babyface Ray And BossMan Dlow’s “Counting money” plus Tea Grizzley’s “Detroit” with 42 Dugg.
