An Ohio man has been sentenced to over 13 years in prison for sex trafficking a young girl.

News Center 7 previously reported that 26-year-old Payton Jamar Brown of Cincinnati was charged with sex trafficking and exploitation of a missing girl in March 2023.
He pleaded guilty in October 2023. On August 20, 2024, he was sentenced to 162 months, or just over 13 years, in prison.
Brown was also ordered to pay nearly $58,000 in restitution to the minor victim and to forfeit his Cincinnati home.
The proceeds from the sale of his confiscated home will be paid to his victim as restitution, according to a press release from the Southern District of Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
From June to October 2022 and again in February 2023, Brown abused the teenager for the purpose of sex trafficking, court documents state.
Brown met the girl online and began a relationship with her. The victim moved in with Brown, who forced her into prostitution.
He took the victim to prostitution appointments in hotels that he had arranged and collected the proceeds from her. During this period, he arranged at least 40 appointments.
In October 2022, Colerain police officers responded to Brown’s residence, found the girl, and transported her to a juvenile detention center in another state.
In February 2023, the girl escaped from custody and sent a message to Brown to pick her up. He drove to another state to pick up the victim and her friend and took them to his home.
Brown again placed prostitution ads for the victim and arranged dates with other men for money.
He also regularly had sex with the minor and filmed it with a mobile phone. He sold the photos and videos to others online.
Brown was arrested by the FBI in February 2023.
