Lizzo is serving us some serial Poison Ivy vibes with her fresh fiery red hair. On October 25, the “Truth Hurts” singer introduced us to her new alter ego “Red Lizzo” while wearing a Savage x Lizzo lingerie set, and she’s absolutely right—we tilt treat them.
“You can’t handle red, Lizzo,” the singer captioned the post, adding a series of red emojis. She tagged celebrity hairstylist Shelby Swain (also known as the Beyoncé of baby hair, as she called herself on Instagram) as the creator of the bright red look.
Lizzo’s new hairstyle was achieved with a combination of Kiss Colors hair dye and Dare To Have hair extensions, as Swain explained in her caption to Lizzo’s reveal video. It’s a match made in heaven if you ask us.
Lizzo showed the process of transforming her red hair in her Instagram stories.
She and Swain started with blonde extensions with dark roots and moved on to red from there.

She also posted a clip from her Instagram Live in which she freestyles with her red hair to a “Go Vote” song, which we’ll be listening to this week as we head to the polls (or mail-in ballot box) to cast early votes.
“VOTE (the musical),” Lizzo captioned the video post from October 26. “Ladies and gentlemen… the vote song from my IG live.”
The last time Lizzo took a big step forward in hair color was when she opted for green for a photoshoot in July. Swain also created this look using the same perfect combination – Kiss Colors and Dare To Have Hair Extensions.
While we can’t quite stand Red Lizzo, we’re glad she’s here, looking absolutely amazing, and also spreading the good message of getting out to the polls and voting in the 2020 presidential election. Now that she has your attention, Red Lizzo will do her best to hammer the “Vote” song into your head so you have no choice but to do your civic duty.
