Ohio State Buckeyes grab top new addition to the offensive line with huge win

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been criticized a lot in recent years for their inability to recruit top players for their offensive line, but they have finally achieved a victory in this regard.

According to Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors, four-star prospect Jayvon McFadden has committed to Ohio State, giving the Buckeyes a much-needed boost for their 2025 recruiting class.

Shortly before, Ohio State had lost five-star offensive player David Sanders, who had joined the University of Tennessee earlier this month.

McFadden, who hails from Riverdale Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, made his official visit to Columbus on June 6. However, he had already met the Buckeyes last November and earlier this year at Ohio State’s spring game.

The 6’5″ and 295lb junior also considered offers from Colorado, Maryland and South Carolina before ultimately deciding on Ohio State.

McFadden joins Carter Lowe and Jalen Cook as the third offensive lineman to commit to the Buckeyes’ 2025 cycle. Ohio State has received 25 commitments in total.

The Buckeyes’ 2025 recruiting class is highly rated and is generally considered the best group in the country.

Ohio State will almost certainly continue to look for more offensive players, considering how few the school has been able to attract so far. The good news is that the Buckeyes can also use the transfer window to attract more talent.

In 2024, many believe Ohio State will enter the season with the best roster in the nation. The Buckeyes will face Akron on August 31st.
