The Cincinnati Bengals will take a committee approach at the running back position next season, led by the duo Chase Brown-Zack Moss.

But after those two, Trayveon Williams is the third running back on the roster who can be useful on special teams, and Cincinnati’s first wave of recent cuts resulted in the release of another player on the reserve team.

With only four running backs on the roster at the time of this writing, Bleacher Report suggested that the Bengals focus on free agent Eno Benjamin:

There are still plenty of older running backs available, but there isn’t much potential. Eno Benjamin is still 25 years old and has over 500 yards on three teams in 2022.

Benjamin, a seventh-round pick from Arizona in 2020, has now played for three different NFL teams and would indeed be a useful addition to Cincinnati.

However, the Bengals still have to consider undrafted rookie Elijah Collins, as well as anyone they can keep on the practice squad. They could potentially keep just three backs from the initial 53 and rely on weekly call-ups if needed.

There’s also a chance the Bengals like another name that becomes available during league-wide cuts leading up to Tuesday’s deadline. If the Bengals make a move at the position, they’ll likely do so once they see who clears.
